AVERY LOOSER is a writer, director, producer, assistant director, and founder of BraveMouse, a company dedicated to championing female-led narratives both in front of and behind the camera. Her work has been recognized by the National Film Festival for the Talented Youth, SXSW, and HollyShorts, as well as featured on ABC and CBS. Beyond her creative work, Avery extends her storytelling practice to collaborations with nonprofits, including Integrity House and Pregnancy Justice.

Her screenplays have been recognized by the Scriptation Showcase, Humanitas Prize, ScreenCraft, and the Sundance Institute, where she was a second-round finalist for the 2023 Development Track. Most recently, Avery made her directorial debut off the West End with too much of water at The Old Red Lion Theatre in London, written by and starring her sister, Brock Looser. She is currently in development on her debut feature, Lifesaver, exploring mental health and the American South, in collaboration with the Media Finance Group at Creative Arts Agency (CAA) and Destiny Lilly, CSA at The Telsey Office. 

For Wes Anderson, Avery has worked on three sets in the AD Department and currently serves as his executive assistant at American Empirical Pictures. She has also contributed to NYU Professor Susan Sandler’s documentaries as an Impact Researcher on Julia Scotti: Funny that Way and as Production Manager on The Artist Must Grow Ever More Selfish. At Putnam Pictures, she worked as a personal reader for Kerri Putnam.

Avery is a proud alumna of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, where she earned her BFA in Film and Television with a Minor in Producing as a University Scholar and Summa Cum Laude graduate. While at NYU, she received the 2020 Josh Goldfaden Award for her contributions to the expository writing program.
