AVERY LOOSER is a writer, director, producer, assistant director, and the founder of BraveMouse, a company dedicated to championing female-led narratives both in front of and behind the camera. Her work has been recognized by the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, SXSW, and HollyShorts, and featured on ABC and CBS. She has collaborated with nonprofits including Integrity House and Pregnancy Justice, and serves on the board of Finleigh Zack Dance, an international dance company focused on movement and mental health. In addition, she was a judge for the 2026 NYU Fusion Film Festival, evaluating and supporting the next generation of female and non-binary storytellers.
Her screenwriting has been recognized by the Scriptation Showcase, Humanitas Prize, ScreenCraft, and the Sundance Institute, where she was a second-round finalist for the 2023 Development Track.
Most recently, Avery made her directorial debut off the West End with too much of water at The Old Red Lion Theatre, written by and starring her sister, Brock Looser. In theatre, she is set to co-produce the upcoming off-West End play Miraculous with her sister, written by and starring Luke Stiles. In film, she is currently developing her debut feature, Lifesaver, a story centered on mental health in the American South, in collaboration with the Media Finance Group at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and Destiny Lilly, CSA.
Avery spent five years working closely with director Wes Anderson at American Empirical Pictures, serving as his executive assistant and working across four films in the Assistant Director department. She has also collaborated with NYU Professor Susan Sandler as an Impact Researcher on Julia Scotti: Funny That Way, as Production Coordinator on The Artist Must Grow Ever More Selfish, and as a Producer on Jane Condon Unsupervised!. At Putnam Pictures, she served as a personal reader for Kerri Putnam.
Avery is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she earned her BFA in Film & Television with a minor in Producing as a University Scholar. She is the recipient of the 2020 Josh Goldfaden Award for excellence in expository writing.
